Steward of Los Gatos Creek Trail
Sam Lum, President of Hamilton Place Neighborhood Association, is a man who gets things done! He coordinated with all the agencies responsible for the Los Gatos Creek and Trail between Meridian and Bascom. He got encampments abated, signs posted, organized a cleanup for the creek, and is trying for find funding for regular bike patrols to keep the creek and trails clean and safe. Thank you for your advocacy, and for keeping the trail clean and safe Sam!
Steward of Kirk Park
in 2022, Kathy Kleinsteiber took the initiative to reach out to the city and get permission to start a little pollinator garden, which has grown and grown to encompass the whole northwest edge of Kirk Park! If you haven't yet, be sure to take a leisurely stroll through the Kirk Park Native Plant Pollinator Garden, enjoy the beautiful plants and flowers, and wonder at all the bees and butterflies. She and other volunteers are out there tending to the garden most Wednesday and Saturday mornings in, case you want to help her do some weeding, or just stop by to thank her for adding such beauty to our neighborhood and an important habitat for our much needed pollinators!
Steward of Wallenberg Park
David Finkle has been an amazing Steward of Wallenberg Park: planting trees and committing to hand-watering them until they are established, reporting concerns with the proper city departments, pulling weeds, picking up branches, and cleaning up graffiti, and more!
Thank you for your hard work and stewardship David!
Welcome to our Student Ambassador!
The newest addition to our board is a Student Ambassador. High School student Zoe volunteered in the Wallenberg Park Kindness Garden before being nominated. She will help identify student perspectives, recruit and facilitate student volunteers, and work with WGNA to advocate on neighborhood issues.
