4th of July

Neighbor --

Thank you to San Jose All District Leadership Group in partnership with District 5 United and in conjunction with the City of San Jose, for hosting an informative video on fireworks!

Did you know that:

  • All types of fireworks—even those labeled "safe and sane"—are illegal in San José and most of Santa Clara County.
  • The City of San José will be using drones to detect and document illegal fireworks activity. Offenders caught on video may face fines or prosecution.
  • San José is now holding spectators responsible for their role in the use of dangerous and illegal fireworks. Any person who is knowingly present and watching an unpermitted fireworks exhibition is subject to a fine
