WILLOW GLEN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION Board Meeting - January 8, 2003

Meeting called to order by President John Gibbs. Other members present: Ames, Fierro, Gardner, Hardy, Marshall, Santomauro, Schapelhouman, and Spence.

Presentations: Bobbie Morrison spoke on the neighborhood concern about Valley Christian School's imminent opening on Leigh and Hamilton Avenues, with. -no progress having been made in the traffic mitigation procedures that were agreed upon with the City and the school. -Even thought VCS has until 8103 to comply; the need is now, so when the school opens the traffic problems will be minimized. John Gibbs will contact Claude Fletcher, VCS Board President, to ascertain the official opening date of the school and what their intent re the traffic mitigation is.

Ed Rast, North Willow Glen Homeowners Association, reported on the current flood zone map which requires residents who live in the designated areas to pay up to $1000 in flood insurance. He lives in this area (Alma/Minnesota/Hervey Lane intersection), but with the construction of Highway 87 and other rebuilds, he believes they no longer are threatened and would like a review of the maps. He asked WGNA to advocate on their behalf. On a motion to approve action, seconded and passed, WGNA will contact the Water District, Corps of Engineers and Zoe Lofgren's office with the request for review. Copies will be sent to FEMA and City of San Jose.
