Founders' Day: Gardner, Gibbs, Hardy and Santomauro met with reps from WGBPA re collaboration on Founders' Day. They want to be involved and many ideas were tossed around on how that would work. Cara Finn, President, Linda Walter, Development Chair and Norma Ruiz, new Exec Dir were present. These points were agreed upon: project should be at $200,000 level; no parade, no street closing; offer other non-profits a piece of the event for their own fundraising needs. Our revenue would come from vendor booths, sponsors, silent auction, merchandise. Lincoln Avenue merchants would be asked to promote sidewalk sales that day and the cafes and restaurants would serve food. Cara did state that they would not share the expense of a paid event coordinator.

The Board then discussed their options.

Hold event on the scale of 2002.

Hold event as described above.

3. Think about what we want to do and forgo the City grant.

Do Founders' Day another way.

There was concern over what would be the draw for the event. Do it on a Saturday with Farmers' Market? Close Lincoln Avenue? Hire an event planner to raise the money?

Jim Spence moved to submit grant to include similar activities from last year, centered around the school, no parade. Cathy Marshall seconded. All present voted to approve, with the exception of Margaret Hardy, who abstained.

Ellen Santomauro was appointed acting Chairman of Founders' Day.

Meeting adjourned. Margaret Hardy, Secretary
