BOARD MEETING

September 11, 2002

President John Gibbs called the meeting to order and asked for a moment of silence to reflect upon the events of 9/11/01.

Members present: L.Ames, S.Fierro, J.Gardner, M.Hardy, P.Love, C.Marshall, E. Santomauro, H.Solinski, J.Spence.

OPEN FORUM: Judy and Larry Kruppenbacher spoke on the issue of abandoned and lived in vehicles parked in the Safeway and Bally lots on Hamilton and Meridian Aves. Their efforts to get action from the store managers have not been successful. M.Hardy volunteered to speak to them on behalf of WGNA.

Minutes of August meeting were approved.

CITY/COUNTY UPDATES

9/14 Dedication of Camden Community Center

9/19 @7pm: Meeting with K.Yeager re Bramhall Park, Baptist Church, Minnesota&Hicks

9/28 @8:30am-12:30pm: Mayor’s Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, CDM

10/16@7pm: Meeting w/K.Yeager re Hicks Ave traffic issues, Baptist Church

TREASURER’S REPORT: Income: $364.07; Expense: $1218.72. Balance 8/31/02: $5046.65. Report accepted.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Airport: C.Marshall reported on the 8/27 meeting which was to inform decision makers and the public of the environmental effects of the proposed automated people mover.

United Neighborhoods: UNSCC is hosting a conference on 10/11 at SJSU. WGNA Board was asked to check their website re sessions of interest.

OLD BUSINESS:

Founders’ Day 2002: Chris Carris reported on the parade that day. WGNA members praised him for the smooth and troublefree event. Details on Founders’ Day will be reported at the next meeting.

No new business and no announcements. Meeting adjourned
