MEETING - MARCH 10, 2004
Meeting called
to order by President Helen Solinski.
Other members present were:
L.Ames, H.Graham, M. Hall, M.Hardy, C.Luckhardt, E.Rast,
M.Salcido, E.Santamauro, J.Spence.
Minutes of
January and February meetings were approved.
Treasurer's
Report: current combined balance
is $8,997.33.
PRESENTATIONS: The Sunrisers Kiwanis Club issued an
invitation for any interested Association members to attend their Special Guest
Day on April 21.
CITY: Tony Filice, Yeager's aide reported
briefly on 4 projects.
COUNTY: Kris Cunningham, Blanca Alvarado's
aide, reported on the success of Measure A. And, as WGNA Nominating Committee Chair, Kris
explained how the committee works and solicited persons interested in serving.
OTHER: Chris and Sherry Picard, residing on
Iris Court, presented the problems they have experienced with the Alano Club
property. Early morning and late
night noise, lights beaming into their rooms. Police have been called and the owner has been contacted but
there has been no change. Code
Enforcement has been informed and are planning a meeting with the goal being
requirement of a revocable use permit.
A WGNA Board member will attend.
COMMITTEE
/PROJECT REPORTS
Hugh distributed
a matrix of current issues WGNA is watching, including state of each project
and next planned meeting.
TAC: Jim Spence reported there are bus
routing problems for students using County Transit.
TAMIEN: Ed Rast reported that talks are being
held on the redesign of the buildings
HOT
LINE: Margaret reported on calls
and action taken.
CREEK
TRAILS: Larry reported on the Los
Gatos Trail and moved that a letter be written to Council, cc'd to Planning
stating WGNA supports construction of a bridge across the creek to the trail,
per San Jose Greenbelt Study.
Motion seconded and passed.
AIRPORT: no report
ALBERSTON'S: Matt reported that things are going
slow. Erin Morris is a newly
appointed planner. Still waiting
for the neighborhood information meeting.
STONE
CHURCH: issues resolved and work
is progressing.
SECOND
UNIT HOUSING: Charley will obtain
draft ordinance and distribute.
Hugh and Margaret will attend the meeting on March 22. We will discuss what, if any, action
WGNA should take at the next meeting,
STATION
6 FIREHOUSE: WGNA has sent letters
in support of maintaining the trucks and staffing.
NEW
BUSINESS: A consensus approved
purchase of software for design and layout of the newsletter.
